1.3  Mentoring and Site coaching

SA provides on-site coaching services to those organisations that have already taken the services from SAMUHIK ABHIYAN.  It provides such services so far local organisations can have effective implementation of the programs. Such support helps to reduce the confusion which usually created during the practices in the field level. SA provides such supports to different sectors such as Project Planning, Policy Making, Strategy Planning, Program Monitoring and Follow up as well, coaching on the field level. SA develops some indicators and coaches differently as per their need.

 

SAMUHIK ABHIYAN provides mentoring and onsite coaching to the following organizations:

·         Rural Development Tuki Association, Dolakha on Social Mobilization for Project staff

·         Livelihood Forestry Programme (LFP)/Animation Training Management of NGOs in Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur  Parbat, Myagdi and Baglung on strategic planning, system development and managing training programs

·         Community Forestry User Groups to promote gender and social inclusion in the groups, to capacitate in forest resource mobilization and to promote participation of the excluded groups in forest resource management. Both activities were conducted in partnership with DFID/LFP and district level Training Management NGOs of Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur Parbat, Myagdi and Baglung districts.

·          CARE/SAMARPAN on facilitating local level training on women’s rights and advocacy training to the village level women leaders in Achham, Bajura, Bajhang, Doti and Kanchanpur districts in 2000. This activity was conducted in partnership with CARE/SAMARPAN.

·         Civil Society Organizations of MS Nepal to implement the learning of training on participatory poverty focus planning and management in Kapilvastu, Palpa, Banke, Bardia and Doti districts. This activity was conducted in partnership with MS Nepal in 2004.

 

  1. Research/ Evaluation and study

SA has its enormous experience in research and study. It conducts both qualitative and quantitative research at the request of INGOs, GOs and sometime independently as well.

SA conducts the followings Researches, Evaluations and Studies over the period of time:

  • Training Needs Assessment and Training Strategy for Hariyo Ban Program. The main objective of conducting the TNA is to identify training needs, in order to effectively implement the Program and promote long-term sustainability of its efforts through Nepali stakeholders after it closes.
  • Study and development of Health Profile for 30 Village Development Committees of Dang and Surkhet districts. The study was conducted for Nepal Family Health Program-II/USAID by assessing the health facilities, health equipments, physical status, management and governance in health services of health institutions of these VDCs- 6 May to September 7, 2011.
  • Study on Climate Change and Environmental Management in consortium with RUPANTARAN Nepal and Natural and Organizational Resource Management Services (NORMS) aiming to produce a comprehensive training module for district level service providing agencies for Ministry of Environment/Asian Development Bank-2011-2012.
  • Fuel Efficient Stove baseline survey to collect data for development of three small health development mechanism projects in Banke, Bardia, Chitwan, Morang and Saptari districts. The baseline survey was conducted for Sustainable Development Center- June 12 – 31 August, 2011.
  • Gender and Social Discrimination Study of Doti, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Darchula, Bajhang, Achham, Bajura, Dailekh and Humla district. The study was conducted for GoN/Gov of Finland/RVWRMP-2008.
  • Study on community organization process of Dalit community of three VDCs of Rautahat district.  (An experiential learning of the social mobilization process for the capacity building).
  • Study on Socio Economic Status of Dalit in Kanchanpur district.
  • Quantitative & Qualitative study on Conducting Impact Study of Mini grid Support Programme in Achham, Jumla, Gulmi, Gorkha, Lamjung, Dhading, Kavre, Solukhumbu, Ilam and Baglung districts-2011.
  • Final Evaluation and Impact Monitoring of ReRe/ GTZ project in Rukum, Rolpa districts – March, 2010
  • Qualitative and Quantitative study on Provision for Livelihood Assessment for Livelihood Recovery for Peace (LRP). The study was conducted for United Nation Development Programme/LRP. A comprehensive livelihood assessment by exploring the status of all six assets (i.e. physical, natural, financial, social, human, and political) within the Sustainable Livelihood Framework and prepare 175 livelihoods profiles at the VDC level of Mahottari, Sarlahi and Rautahat – 1 November 2009 to 31 August 2010.
  • Quantitative and Qualitative study to conduct the socio-economic impact study of the users of Solar Home System for Energy Sector Assistant Program (ESAP)/ Alternative Energy Promotion Centerr (AEPC). Impact assessment on the users using AEPC/ESAP promoted solar home system of Taplejung, Ilam, Chitawan, Lamjung, Myagdi, Gulmi, Rukum, Achham, Kavre, and Humla in 04 October 2009 to March 2010.
  • Qualitative study on Relevance of HSSP support to quality improvement and reducing access barriers to health care services for HSSP/GTZ, assess the level of effectiveness of the HSSP interventions and services-2009
  • Local Revenue Collection Study of Phyuthan district.  The study was conducted for GTZ/PASARA in August-October 2009.
  • Research and Development of Livelihoods Improvement Plan of Northern Mountain Conservation Project (NMCP), Dolpa and Langtang National Park and Buffer Zone Support Project (LNPBZ SP), Rasuwa in financial and management support from World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Nepal in 2007.
  • Carried out the DEMOCRACY AUDIT of the civil society organizations of local level from Far western, Mid western, Western and the Eastern region of Nepal, in financial and management support from MS Nepal in 2006
  • Research on good governance and assessment of services of the government service providing agencies and development of the citizen score report card as piloting in Rasuwa and Kanchanpur in the financial support of Gon/NPC in 2005
