SAMUHIK ABHIYAN is implementing Third Party Monitoring in forestry sector in Mainstreaming Gender Equity and Social Inclusion in three districts (Okhaldhunga, Khotang and Ramechhap) from February 2014 to April 2015. The overarching goal of the monitoring is to improve governance in the forest group to promote and mainstreaming Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) dimensions in forestry sector through third party monitoring. This project has been implementing in close coordination with Multi-Stakeholder Forestry Programme (MSFP).
Output of the project
1.1 Developed and tested a third party monitoring tools which can be replicated to other areas
1.2 Vigilance groups formed and capacitated for the third party monitoring
2.1 Established a base-line data of GESI to be measured outputs of the project at the end of the project.
2.2 Decreased identified gap on GESI mainstreaming of the MSFP, CFUGs other stakeholders
3.1 Increased awareness of local community, local media, users from GESI perspective
3.2 Implemented GESI plan and policy
Outcomes
- Established third party monitoring system in forestry sector through Vigilance Groups
- The lesson learnt and best practices, case studies of the project will be documented and
- shared widely
- Increased effectiveness of GESI focused program and participation level of beneficiaries
- Developed a third party monitoring tools which can be replicated to other project areas
- Contributed on GESI mainstreaming in MSFP’s program & policy
